Meltcast Appearance

Chris and I were lucky enough to appear once again on the fantastic Meltcast podcast to help promote this Saturday’s Kids Comics L.A!

You can hear us ramble on about Reed, brotherhood, and all things Kids Comics L.A. the Meltcast site or download the podcast from iTunes!

(NOTE – There is an “explicit” tag on this podcast due to some of the more colorful language used by our gracious hosts. It’s not that bad but just a fair warning for any of the younger Reed Gunther fans.)

We had a blast with these Meltcast fellas and we really appreciate them having us on their show again!

Kids Comics L.A. Wrap-Up

We’d like to send a super huge THANKS to everyone who came out for Kids Comics L.A. this past weekend!

Kids of all ages hung out with us and talked comics. Chris lead a drawing seminar and created a couple of characters based on kid’s suggestions including Marc Pig (the angry spaceman), H.A.N.K. (Marc’s dog/fish space-pet), and the evil Dr. VonShoe (a horse, skull, lobster mix with a shark tail!).

In the second seminar, Chris and I collaborated with everyone in the audience as we all created a super fun and goofy space adventure for Chris to draw. What fun!

If you can’t read it, in the last panel Dr. VonShoe gets one more glorious cheese pun in by saying, “I’m so Provolonely!”

Here are some of the fantastic kids who participated! Everyone was drawing and throwing out story suggestions at the same time. I’m amazed with their creativity, willingness to toss out ideas, and sheer energy that they brought to the event. What a blast!

And here’s the rag-tag group of creators who were amazing enough to come out and support this event!

Thanks to Meltdown Comics for hosting the event, the Grilled Cheese Truck for coming out and feeding us, and to Jennifer Ruiz for snapping all these wonderful photos!

Thanks everyone! Happy Reading!

The Most Exciting Video Interview

Steven Surman from BrokenFrontier.com recently asked me and Chris to complete a written interview.

Instead, we made THE MOST EXCITING VIDEO INTERVIEW EVER MADE* and packed it full of action and adventure!

A super big thanks go out to the real pizza deliver guy, Willy Roberts, who did not know what he was in for when he delivered that pizza, Dave Geis for asking Steven’s questions on camera, and Jon Hill for shooting the whole thing and making it look pretty.

And of course, thanks to Steven Surman for asking us to do an interview, and then still posting the schlock we made even though we didn’t answer a single one of his questions.

GOODNIGHT!

Crossover Peek!

Howdy folks!

Hope everyone is having a wild New Year! Chris and I have been away from the blog recently, but we promise we’ve been working very hard on all sorts of fun Reed Gunther stuff we can’t wait to show you!

For now, you’ll have to settle with a panel from a brand new, full-color, crossover short story featuring Reed and another mysterious character from a comic you probably know and love! We can’t spill the beans just yet, but you know Reed’s going to get into some sort of trouble. It’s kinda what he does.

Here’s a sneak peek at one of the panels:

RGCrossover_smCan’t wait to show you the full thing!

Have a sloppy one!

Until then, don’t forget to do something for your sweat lady or fella this Monday.

Be mine?

Love, Shane
