Kids Read Green Brain Comics!

Hey all!  If you happen to be near Dearborn, MI, you can now grab issues of Reed Gunther and the Steak Snacking Snake at the coolest of cool comic shops, Green Brain Comics!  The owners, Dan and Katie Merritt are super nice and so supportive of indy comics. Because of that, you can find some great hard-to-find comics in their store.

Also, Dan is putting together a great free event for kids, comics, and creators this weekend (June 12-13th) in Chelsea, MI.  Chris will be at a booth on Saturday along with a lot of really fun comic creators. He’ll be doing sketches, selling Reed Gunther issues and posters, and giving away FREE buttons! Woohoo!

Heroes Con!

Con-Tastic!  Chris will be at Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC  this weekend (June 19-21) signing issues and drawing sketches for all those amazing Reed Gunther fans (aka, people who stumble into his booth wondering where Guy Davis’ table is)!  So if you’re in the Charlotte area, be sure to swing by and say hello.

Chris will have issues and really cool posters to sell and will also be giving away FREE Reed Gunther Pins!

Reed Gunther Review!

Hey There Folks!

If you’re sick of hearing Chris and I blabber on about our comic, listen to comicbookbin.com reviewer, Andy Frisk blabber about Reed Gunther and the Steak Snacking Snake by reading his review here!

Andy was nice enough to read through a copy of our book and wrote a fantastic, in depth review.

Many thanks to Andy and the crew over at comicbookbin.com!

Issue 2 Sneak Peek!

Hey Folks!

Chris and I are hard at work getting the second issue ready and we thought we’d let you get a little taste for what kind of adventures await for Reed Gunther and gang.

Here’s a page I received recently from Chris. After I write the script, Chris gives it a thorough read through then sketches out thumbnails of how he sees the page laying out. Then he moves on to the rough pencil stage where he draws out all the action in full size panels. After that, Chris sends me scans of each page and we talk through individual pages, beats, and characters expressions. Most of this talk is about you, the reader, and how we can best tickle your eyeballs with fun and exciting stories and images!

After that, Chris inks the pages and we make it available to you! Unfortunately, you will have to wait until August for issue #2 to be available, so here’s a peek at a rough pencil page from Reed Gunther in a Stalac-TIGHT Spot!

Reed Gunther Mez-it

Chris has a great post over at his blog about how he created his very own Reed Gunther doll for the Mezco Mez-Itz Art Show for the 2009 San Diego Comic Con.

Chris has great photos of his progress as well as some daring shots of Reed fighting a ferocious beast (my cat) in the wild, wild wilderness of the rugged Mid-West!
