OK, not literally space, like outer space, but S.P.A.C.E. as in Small Press Alternative Comics Expo!

This weekend (April 24th and 25th) Chris and I are going to be hanging out in Columbus, OH at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center (4900 Sinclair Road Columbus, OH 43229)!

If you’re anywhere in the area, you should come out and say hey! We’ll have all sorts of comics, original artwork, and even some freebie giveaways! Whoo-Hoo!

Check out the floor plan below. We’ll be nestled at table 52 in the Korner Of Koas! (as I’m now calling it) along with other goofballs (and Reed Gunther Pin Up contributors) such as Kassandra Heller (table 47), Guy Davis (table 48), and Joe Foo (table 51)!

This is going to be mine and Chris’ first convention TOGETHER, so you gotta make the trip to see us both in our rare brotherly form!

CONTEST THINGY! The first person to come up to me and Chris and yell out a Reed Gunther catch phrase like, “BOURBON AND RAW EGGS!”, “SPITTIN’ BUCKSHOT!”, or “PICKLED BEETS!” at the top of their lungs* will win all three issues of Reed Gunther for FREE! “TALLUCA LAKE!”

WOWEE! What a weekend!

Chris and I just traveled back from SPACE in Columbus, OH and we are pooped!

We had a fantastic time with all the wonderful creators and fans this weekend. There’s tons of great folks in the indie comic/small press world and having everyone come together at a con like SPACE is a great way to find exciting and interesting new art, stories, and people!

A big thanks goes out to all the folks who picked up our books! We eventually sold out of issues on Sunday and we’re really sorry for all who stopped by and didn’t get a chance to snag an issue at the con, but there are always issues available in the Store section of the site if you’re still interested!

And now we’ll leave you with the only in-focus shot we have. Of course, the only one in-focus is the one where we’re making faces! I promise I was having way more fun than I look like I’m having in this picture…

It’s Free Comic Book Day! Swing by any comic book store for some sweet free comics!

If you’re in Dearborn, MI, head over to Green Brain Comics (13210 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn MI) and see Chris. He’ll be signing issues of Reed Gunther and probably doodling away from 10:30 – 6!

Hey Bear-Back Riders!

Chris Houghton is slaving away at finishing up the inks for the fourth issue, Reed Gunther in Fish Out of Slaughter! but thing’s have been going a bit slower than we hoped. In the next month and a half, Chris is going to two comic conventions, graduating from college, and getting MARRIED!

I really don’t know what’s taking him so long to finish these inks!

We had hoped the fourth issue would be out in May, it’s actually going to be available in June. Not too much of a delay. BUT, I can tell you it is definitely going to be worth the wait!

In the meantime, check out this amazing and hilarious pin up by Chris Schweizer!

As an all-around talented and awesome guy, Chris writes AND draws the Crogan Adventures series (Crogan’s Vengence and Crogan’s March) and draws some of the goofiest faces in comics! You may have picked up one of his short stories that was in Oni Press’ Free Comic Book Day issue. Chris has got a great sense of motion and kinetic energy in his work, and we’re lucky to have him bring his fantastic skills to the Reed Gunther universe!

I can’t wait to see this printed out in the fourth issue!

This legendary pin up was drawn by the incredibly nice, super talented Stan Sakai!

The creator of the long running series Usagi Yojimbo, Stan took some time out of his busy schedule to draw everyone’s favorite bear-riding… rabbit?

A million thanks go out to Stan for his awesome pin up and all of his support for our little book!

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out his seminal book Usagi Yojimbo. Stan knocks out the writing, penciling, inking, and lettering all by himself every month! What a machine!
